Everyone involved in rowing has the right to participate in a safe, respectful and supportive environment.
RowSA Safeguarding Policy
The Rowing South Africa Safeguarding Policy sets out the measures, responsibilities and reporting procedures intended to protect participants from abuse, harassment, misconduct and harm.
Reporting
Report a Safeguarding Concern
If you have a safeguarding concern, disclosure or allegation relating to the safety, abuse, harassment, exploitation or welfare of a participant, it should be raised as soon as possible through the appropriate safeguarding channel.

Report PromptlyConcerns should be raised immediately with the RowSA Safeguarding Officer or the relevant line manager.

Report ConcernsThis includes actual, suspected or potential abuse, harassment, exploitation, misconduct or risk of harm.

Do Not InvestigateDo not attempt to investigate the allegation or suspicion yourself. Your role is to report the concern.

Maintain ConfidentialitySafeguarding information should only be shared with the appropriate safeguarding personnel on a need-to-know basis.

Safeguarding includes protection from psychological abuse, physical abuse, sexual harassment and abuse, neglect and discriminatory abuse. Concerns may relate to conduct in person or online.
Reporting a Concern
Any safeguarding concern, disclosure or allegation should be raised immediately with the RowSA Safeguarding Officer or the relevant line manager. Individuals should not conduct their own investigation into suspected abuse.
Confidentiality
Safeguarding concerns are managed on a confidential need-to-know basis, while protecting the rights and welfare of the person affected.
Report the concern promptly through the appropriate safeguarding channel. Do not attempt to investigate the matter yourself.
