What are the FISU World University Games?
The FISU Summer World University Games are one of the world's largest international multi-sport events for student-athletes, bringing together university athletes from across the globe to compete at an elite international level.
Held every two years in a different host city, the Summer World University Games combine high-performance sport with education, culture and international exchange. The event programme extends over 12 days and brings together thousands of student-athletes and officials from more than 150 countries.
Rowing forms part of selected editions of the Summer World University Games. South African university rowers selected to compete at the Games progress through the USSA Rowing pathway.

Athletes must meet the eligibility requirements applicable to the relevant World University Games campaign.
Exact eligibility rules, selection requirements and trial dates will be published for each campaign.
South African student-athletes studying at higher education institutions outside South Africa may currently be considered for selection to the FISU World University Games, subject to meeting the applicable FISU and campaign-specific eligibility and selection requirements.
